Symantics is important. It means more than political correctness to get it right.

It is also important to keep disability a noun (i.e. the person has a disability)..... for example:

"10 million people and their Disabilities" = Good, exactly what I am talking about.
"10 million disabled people in Australia" = Bad, a person is still a person if they have a disability. A better way to phrase this would be "10 million people with disabilities in Australia". Always put the person before the condition.

A blind person = bad.
A person who is vision impaired = fine.
A person with a visual impairment = bad. That means they're visually ugly doesn't it?
A deaf person = bad.
A person who has difficulty hearing = fine.

Put the person first.

Symantics is important.
