NCC 2025 accessibility changes: Part D4 barely moved. Here's what did
Does NCC 2025 change disability access? Part D4 barely moved. The big change has already happened.
- 1. NCC 2022 Amendment 2 moved to AS 1428.1:2021 on 29 July 2025.
- 2. NCC 2025 adds threshold, step and kerb ramp definitions, with handrail and slip concessions.
- 3. Small-sized, low-speed automatic lifts are no longer permitted (E3D7).
- 4. Toilets: an optional all-gender route and sanitary bins in all facilities. Accessible unisex toilets are still required.
- 5. NSW adopts NCC 2025 on 1 May 2027. Until then, most CCs are assessed against Amendment 2.
